Co-Founder & Lead Software Engineer · 2021–November 2024

Designed and deployed a real-time Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system across 19 UCSC campus buses. Built C firmware for the Raspberry Pi Pico, a C#/.NET cloud backend, and integrated GPS, LTE, SD storage, and CAN bus communications. Also built a hardware testing simulation system to validate firmware before physical deployment.

Won UCSC Launchpad 2022: 1st place and a $10,000 prize out of 19 teams. Read the announcement →

Slugbotics Robotic Arm

Arm Team Lead · UCSC Slugbotics

Led a 10-person team to design and build a fully custom robotic arm — from CAD and 3D printing through to software. Implemented reverse kinematics for precise end-effector control and built a computer vision pipeline with OpenCV for real-time object detection.

Integrated Llama 3.2 via LLM tool-calling to enable natural language task commands (e.g. "pick up the red screwdriver"). The full system was simulated in CoppeliaSim before physical deployment.

Rocket Team Ground Speed Estimator

Developer · UCSC Rocket Team · 2024

Developed a Python tool using optical flow to estimate a rocket's position and ground speed from a downward-facing onboard camera. Processes video frames in real time to extract velocity vectors, providing ground truth telemetry independent of GPS.

Wizards Duel

Solo Developer · 2019–2026

Turn-based pattern-matching duel game featuring 32 unique characters, each with character-specific abilities and a distinct playstyle. Players chain input patterns to cast spells, and matches are played over real-time TCP networking.

Built and iterated on over several years, growing from a single-player prototype to a fully networked multiplayer game.
